Meet the Kidney Health Educator Behind This Project
(PhD Research, Kidney Health, Commercial Drivers)
Rachel Bolanle na correct nurse we sabi her work well-well. She get plenty different nursing skills and she don do serious training for both school and work. She be Registered Nurse wey dem train for School of Nursing Akure, Registered Midwife from School of Midwifery Ilorin, Registered Pediatric Nurse from Post Basic Nursing School UITH Ilorin, and she still be Registered Nephrology Nurse from that same UITH Ilorin.
Rachel no stop for there. She still travel go UK go learn more about kidney matter for Sheffield Kidney Institute for Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. For school side, she get B.Sc. Nursing from KAAF University College for Ghana, and she still get Master’s for Nursing from Lincoln University College for Malaysia.
Right now, Rachel na Deputy Director of Nursing for University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Na she dey lead people, guide staff and students, and make sure say patient care dey on point.

Her research dey face one serious health wahala. Chronic Kidney Disease don turn one of the top killers for the world. Many people no dey even know say the sickness dey worry them until e don reach last stage. For Nigeria, the number of people wey get am dey increase every day, and dem dey talk say by year 2040, e go enter top five causes of death for the whole world.
Rachel come see say commercial drivers dey at risk because of their lifestyle. So she dey run her study for twelve motor parks for Oyo, Ekiti, and Osun States. She dey use one digital nurse-led program wey dem do for English, Yoruba, and Pidgin to teach drivers, open their eyes, correct bad habits, and help them live healthier.
Through all this work, Rachel wan help find better ways to prevent chronic kidney disease and make health better for commercial drivers, wey be one of the most vulnerable groups for Nigeria
